New rideable Pokemon in Cobblemon 1.8
Cobblemon 1.8 added ten rideable Pokemon: Crobat, Skarmory, Milotic, Archeops, Goodra, Hisuian Goodra, Drampa, Duraludon, Archaludon, and Pidgeot.
Skarmory and Drampa already carry full ride stats in the air mount table below. The other eight, Pidgeot included, are not in the tables yet: their ride stats are being confirmed in game rather than published as guesses.
In game, the Pokedex list also has a filter dropdown at the bottom with a Rideable option, alongside All, Owned, Seen, Unregistered, and Undiscovered TM Move, so you can see which Pokemon you can ride without leaving the Pokedex.
Do these ride stats work in CobbleVerse?
The mechanics do. CobbleVerse runs Cobblemon 1.7.3, and riding is a Cobblemon feature that arrived in 1.7 rather than something the modpack adds, so the riding styles and the way each stat behaves are the same.
The numbers are published differently, though, and we have not verified ours against theirs species by species. CobbleVerse documents mount statistics as numeric ranges on its own COBBLEVERSE Wiki; this page uses letter grades across five stats. If you need CobbleVerse's exact values, use their wiki. Use this page for how riding works, which Pokemon can be ridden, and how the styles compare.
Two caveats worth knowing:
The ten rideable Pokemon listed above are new in Cobblemon 1.8. CobbleVerse is on 1.7.3, so they are not in the modpack yet.
CobbleVerse advertises "200+ rideable Pokemon" while this page documents over 330. The difference is counting, not content: this page lists Mega and regional forms as separate rows.
How to Ride a Pokemon in Cobblemon
Riding Styles
Land Styles
Standard β Basic land mount. Mouse look controls direction; left/right keys strafe. Hold sprint to run (drains stamina).
Vehicle β Moves like a boat on land. Forward direction is independent of camera, so you can look around freely. Left/right keys turn the mount. Hold crouch + turn to drift for tighter corners.
Water Styles
Boat β Surface-level water mount. Camera-independent controls like Vehicle style. Left/right keys turn.
Submarine β Like Boat, but can submerge and move freely underwater.
Dolphin β Like Submarine, but can also leap out of the water.
Air Styles
Bird β Free-flight mount with hover capability. Look direction controls movement. Has an alternate elytra-like glide mode.
Jet β Fast forward flight without hover. Camera-independent steering. Ascend/descend with jump/crouch keys.
UFO β Omnidirectional hover flight (like creative mode). Slow but precise. Cannot fly above max height without draining stamina.
Rocket β Like UFO but can also boost forward at higher speeds.
