As of Cobblemon 1.6, berries can be used as bait on the Poké Rod

How to use the baits

---

1. Attach a berry to the Poké Rod by dragging it over the rod and right-clicking, or by holding the berry in your offhand.

2. The bait remains on the hook until a Pokémon is reeled in, after which it is consumed
