What is CobbleVerse?

CobbleVerse is a Fabric modpack built on top of the Cobblemon mod. Cobblemon is the mod that adds Pokemon to Minecraft; CobbleVerse is a curated pack that wraps it in a full adventure with regions, gyms and progression.

What is in CobbleVerse?

Which parts are CobbleVerse and which are Cobblemon?

This matters more than it sounds, because it decides whether a guide you find online actually applies to your game.

Comes from Cobblemon, so it works the same everywhere:

• Riding mechanics. Riding arrived in Cobblemon 1.7 and CobbleVerse runs Cobblemon 1.7.3, so the styles and the way each stat behaves are the same. Our Cobblemon Rideable Pokemon and Ride Stats page is a good guide to how riding works. For CobbleVerse's own per-species numbers, the COBBLEVERSE Wiki publishes them directly.

• Pokedex data. Types, base stats, abilities and learnsets come from Cobblemon. Our Pokedex covers all of it.

• Evolution methods, including regional forms and special evolutions.

Comes from CobbleVerse, so guides written for other servers will not match:

• Spawn rates and where specific Pokemon appear

• Raid structure, rewards and difficulty tuning

• Gyms, badges and the region progression

• Anything involving its custom mods

If you are reading a raid or spawn guide, check which pack it was written for. If you are reading about riding or a Pokemon's stats, it applies to both.

How do you play CobbleVerse with friends?

There are three routes, and they are not equally easy.

Rent a server

Apex Hosting and Nitrado both offer one-click CobbleVerse installs. Budget 6GB RAM or more depending on how many friends are joining. This is the least technical paid option.

Host it yourself

Be aware that there is no standalone CobbleVerse server pack. You install the modpack locally first, then build the server from it. Every player who joins must run the exact same pack version, and mismatches are the most common reason people cannot connect.

Join a server that is already running

No install, no RAM to pay for, no version matching. The trade is that you play that server's world rather than your own.

Playing on Cobblemon Islands instead

Cobblemon Islands is a public Cobblemon server. It is not CobbleVerse and does not try to be. What it offers is the part CobbleVerse makes hardest, which is playing with a lot of other people without setting anything up.

• No modpack install and no RAM requirement, so it runs on the machine you already have

• Running Cobblemon 1.8, with Alpha Pokemon and the 1.8 features that CobbleVerse has not moved to yet

• Its own systems: raids, expeditions, PokeHunts and safari zones

• An active player base, so trading and raids actually fill

If you want a curated singleplayer adventure with gyms and badges, CobbleVerse is genuinely excellent and you should play it. If you want to play Pokemon in Minecraft with other people tonight, join Cobblemon Islands.

What Cobblemon version does CobbleVerse use? Cobblemon 1.7.3, on Minecraft 1.21.1 with Fabric.

Does CobbleVerse have Cobblemon 1.8 features? Not yet. Alpha Pokemon, the TM system and the nine new rideable Pokemon are Cobblemon 1.8 features, and CobbleVerse is on 1.7.3.

How much RAM does CobbleVerse need? 4GB minimum, 6GB or more recommended. For a server, 6GB or more depending on player count.

Can I play CobbleVerse without installing anything? Not CobbleVerse itself, as it is a modpack and has to be installed. If what you want is Pokemon in Minecraft with other players and no setup, a public Cobblemon server is the no-install route.

Do Cobblemon riding stats apply in CobbleVerse? Yes. Riding is a Cobblemon 1.7 feature and CobbleVerse runs 1.7.3, so the full ride stats table is accurate for it.
