This matters more than it sounds, because it decides whether a guide you find online actually applies to your game. **Comes from Cobblemon, so it works the same everywhere:** * **Riding mechanics.** Riding arrived in Cobblemon 1.7 and CobbleVerse runs Cobblemon 1.7.3, so the styles and the way each stat behaves are the same. If you are reading about riding or a Pokemon's stats, it applies to both. ### How do you play CobbleVerse with friends? There are three routes, and they are not equally easy. {% stepper %} {% step %} #### Rent a server Apex Hosting and Nitrado both offer one-click CobbleVerse installs. Budget **6GB RAM or more** depending on how many friends are joining. This is the least technical paid option. {% endstep %} {% step %} #### Host it yourself Be aware that **there is no standalone CobbleVerse server pack.** You install the modpack locally first, then build the server from it. Every player who joins must run the **exact same pack version**, and mismatches are the most common reason people cannot connect. {% endstep %} {% step %} #### Join a server that is already running No install, no RAM to pay for, no version matching. The trade is that you play that server's world rather than your own. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ### Playing on Cobblemon Islands instead Cobblemon Islands is a public Cobblemon server. It is not CobbleVerse and does not try to be. Alpha Pokemon, the TM system and the nine new rideable Pokemon are [Cobblemon 1.8](https://wiki.cobblemonislands.com/cobblemon-1.8) features, and CobbleVerse is on 1.7.3. **How much RAM does CobbleVerse need?** 4GB minimum, 6GB or more recommended. For a server, 6GB or more depending on player count. **Can I play CobbleVerse without installing anything?** Not CobbleVerse itself, as it is a modpack and has to be installed. If what you want is Pokemon in Minecraft with other players and no setup, a public Cobblemon server is the no-install route. **Do Cobblemon riding stats apply in CobbleVerse?** Yes.
